This year, I spent Christmas in Slanghoek. It is Cape Town’s undiscovered gem. There are load of camping spots on various wine farms, mine was right on the Breede River. There are many activities to do in the area, from hiking, to biking, to kayaking, to fishing and wine tasting. Take a drive and see for yourself, only 45 minutes from Cape Town, through the Hugenot Tunnel. There is a lovely lunch spot called the “Dam Fine Cafe” where you sit under oak trees and enjoy a real ‘boere’ Sunday lunch, with the works! I love it.
