Accommodation
A unique atrium is the focal point of Teremok Riverside's lounge, which augments the notion of peace and tranquility while also promoting a mood of restful contemplation. Invigorated by the energy which resonates from the magnificent cascading waterfall, this is an inimitable and serene space that is tactile and visually stimulating. The relaxing element principally comes from filtered, metered light dancing playfully through the leaves of an indigenous bushwillow tree before peeking shyly through silk burnout curtains. A collection of comfortable pieces upholstered in muted colours and old French fabrics, are interspersed with a zingy chartreuse velvet. Attention to detail has been lavished on a large button and copper wire-woven chandelier hanging over a round table surrounded by four French bereg chairs. This seating area commands centre stage in front of a stone-clad fireplace. Tucked into the corner is a high-gloss library hosting a quirky collection of books
Facilities
One cannot help but be provoked by the flood of emotions conjured up when first taking in the view from the diningroom of the river bend. The peace and seclusion of this intimate location are tangible and strengthened by the connecting magnificent riverside trees, flowing water and majestic boulders. Tables mix dark wood with stainless steel while chairs offer a playful combination of retro printed fabrics and contemporary croco-vinyl. Opposite the open plan kitchen is a new concept area: the express breakfast bar. White-washed Louis XVI bar stools have a frivolous edge with imported pink oval-spotted velvet. Guests are afforded the opportunity to explore different environments within the dining room.
The rooms are not enclosed in four walls in the traditional sense, and therefore do not have the sadness often associated with lounges, lobbies and restaurants within traditional hotels. The agenda is to offer freshly prepared breakfasts that appealed to an innate love of comfort food. Everything is prepared in an open-plan kitchen and homemade as far as possible. No additives and preservatives in the juices, muffins made fresh with no artificial flavourings, farm eggs, homemade muesli… in short, no shortcuts. Awareness of health is important for most guests, and Teremok offers low GL breakfasts in addition to catering for guests' specific needs. It is essential to nourish the soul, literally and figuratively, and Teremok is a breakfast-only establishment – no outsiders invading the small, intimate space or a team of professional chefs eroding its sense of homeliness.
